Recipe: Perfectly Sweet Kombucha Green Smoothie

Semi Sweet Green Kombucha Smoothie

Extremely nutritious. Full of spinach. Perfectly sweet (for me). A glycemic load of 10 which is low. Refreshing. This is how I describe this smoothie recipe. I would enjoy it over and over again.

I would double up on the spinach if I had a blender that was more powerful then the Hamilton Beach Personal Blender. I don’t own a more powerful blender and 3 cups of spinach was a perfect amount. Do what YOU want. If you are new to green smoothies then start with 1 cup.

Kombucha is not completely necessary. Feel free to use water instead. If you have yet to enjoy Kombucha then I strongly recommend you be on the outlook for it. I buy it at Harvest Health. I am sure Whole Foods and Trader Joes carries it as well. If you know this for sure then please leave a comment below.

Perfectly Sweet Green Kombucha Smoothie Recipe

  • 1/2 Cup Original Kombucha
  • 1/4 Cup Ice
  • 1 Medium Banana
  • 1 TBSP Avocado
  • 3 Cups Spinach

Add all ingredients into a blender in the order above and blend until smooth. If you use this blender then you will want to pulse a few times and possibly push down the food with a spoon so the spinach blends well. If you want to try a different green vegetable then go for it. Just keep in mind that spinach is the most mildly tasting green and also the most nutritious.

From what I’ve heard, WF and TJ’s only sell pasteurized kombucha now. To get the real, raw GOOD stuff, you have to buy direct from the companies, find a small, local, health food store or make it yourself. It’s super easy to make. I make about five gallons a week!

Thanks for the recipe! I added it to my bookmarks and will try to make it soon. I have 2 bottles left of GT’s Raw kombucha to finish first.
