Is Taste Nirvana The World’s Best Coconut Water?

Coconut in Brazil

Coconut water is nature’s best source of electrolytes.

After some quick google searching and then reading various sources I’ve learned that the major electrolytes our body needs is potassium, sodium magnesium, calcium.

The health section at HowStuffWorks.com tells us why electrolytes are so important for our bodies:

Electrolytes are important because they are what your cells (especially nerve, heart, muscle) use to maintain voltages across their cell membranes and to carry electrical impulses (nerve impulses, muscle contractions) across themselves and to other cells. Your kidneys work to keep the electrolyte concentrations in your blood constant despite changes in your body. For example, when you exercise heavily, you lose electrolytes in your sweat, particularly sodium and potassium. These electrolytes must be replaced to keep the electrolyte concentrations of your body fluids constant. So, many sports drinks have sodium chloride or potassium chloride added to them. They also have sugar and flavorings to provide your body with extra energy and to make the drink taste better.

This is why Gatorade can work. Their magical formula is water, sugar, electrolytes and maybe yellow5.

But is this what you want? Wouldn’t you want to enjoy a beverage that comes straight from nature? That contains real vitamins and minerals, real sugar, real flavor and absolutely no crap? A drink that tastes better too?

I do.

This is one of many reasons why I enjoy Coconut Water. As explained above, electrolytes are pretty damn important to the human body. And Coconut Water just so happens to be nature’s greatest source of these electrolytes; mainly potassium, sodium and magnesium.

However, I don’t live in Thailand. Or Hawaii. Or Brazil. Or Key West. Or any other tropical place on this planet where coconuts are abundant. You probably do not either.

Taste Nirvana Coconut Water to the Rescue!

Luckily, for both you and I, there are at least one dozen different Coconut Water brands on the market that you can buy at grocers, health food stores and even some gas stations. You can also save $1 per can and buy a 12 pack on Amazon.

I’ve tasted Amy & Brians Naturals, Vita Coco, Zico, O.N.E., Taste Nirvana and a couple other brands that added extra sugar for whatever ridiculous reason.

Taste Nirvana was the most recent brand I have tasted. I wrote a review on 3 of the brands listed above last year. I still love Amy & Brian’s Naturals. However, my new favorite brand is definitely Taste Nirvana.

When I took my first sip of Taste Nirvana I was in awe. It tasted as fresh as possible like it was poured from a Thailand coconut that day.

I recently went to Key West and did drink coconut water straight out of a coconut. I thought this would be impossible to beat. And, actually, it is. The experience of holding the coconut like it was a cup and taking a few sips, savoring it as much as possible, was unbeatable. However, the taste of the Taste Nirvana Coconut Water is exactly that. Coconut Water. Nothing else.

Give it a try as soon as you can. Then thank me later. Go buy a 12 pack on Amazon for only $22 if you want.

I’ll be making dozens of coconut water smoothies over the next several months and the brand I will be using is Taste Nirvana.

What is your favorite brand of Coconut Water? Have you tasted the Taste Nirvana brand? Let us know by leaving a comment below. We all appreciate your opinion.

About Toad

Is my name Todd or Toad? I'm a world traveler seeking true wellness. I'm not a fan of labels but the following describe me best: minimalist, foodie, entrepreneur, adventurer, writer, cook.

  • A.Stev

I just drink it straight from the coconut.
I’ve never actually seen coconut water as a canned drink, but if I ever do I may give it a try.

Where do you live? If I lived where there were coconut waters then I would not drink it from a can either! But, I am in Michigan and moving to Washington in 2 weeks. The coconut water is decent from mature coconuts but I prefer it from young coconuts which is why I drink it from a can.

      • A.Stev

Oh, I live in Canada; I just get mature coconuts from the grocery store… definitely not any growing around here. lol

  • Wenchypoo

If you’re looking to do away with some of that sugar, try Naked Coconut Water. It’s the lowest sugar-containing coconut water I’ve been able to find, short of the coconut itself.

    • http://primaltoad.com Toad

There are hundreds of different species of coconut water. All have different sugar content. Taste Nirvana, Amy & Brians Naturals an Vita Coconut don’t add sugar or water. It’s pure coconut water. I guess Naked does too.

But the taste of it depends on where you get the coconuts. So far Taste Nirvana is the best! And I think it has more potassium.

Coconut Water is my new favorite pre and intra workout drink. So much better than gatorade and without all the high fructose corn syrup! It is also great for your hair and skin and in my opinion is a miracle drink! I like Vita Coco the best because of the added vitamin C-and for some reason I like the taste better as well.

Have you ever tried Amy & Brians Naturals or Taste Nirvana? You must give both a chance. I’ve had all 3. I tasted Vita Coco just a few days ago and Taste Nirvana is way better IMO.

I think I’ve tried most of the brands mentioned in the article. I’ve never had the water from the fresh coconut. So many of the canned/bottled products taste like raw sweet potatoes or raw yams. I noticed that coconuts grown in South America tasted most strongly of potatoes/yams, while those grown in Thailand had only the taste of coconut. I almost gave up my search for one I truly enjoyed. Then, my local grocery store started carrying the Taste Nirvana brand. It absolutely blew me away. I now get monthly shipments of 24 cans of the 16.2 oz size of TN Coconut Water (at a good price) from Amazon. I still buy the 9.5 oz size glass bottles of TN Coco Aloe. My favorite way to enjoy these products is to mix equal volumes of the Coconut Water and Coco Aloe in a large jug and add a lot of ice. YUM. As new coconut waters appear on the shelves of my grocery stores and health food stores, I always buy a bottle/can and give them a try. I still have not found anything that even comes close to the Taste Nirvana.

Ah, it blew me away too. I never thought a brand could be better than Amy & Brians Naturals since I really like that brand but Taste Nirvana beats it! Glad to find someone who is right there with my beliefs on coconut water!

I may begin making a lot of coconut water smoothies soon. I just need to get my hands on a couple 12 packs and begin experimenting!

Taste nirvana is the best with zola a close second. The worst of the pures is zico

    • http://primaltoad.com/ Todd Dosenberry

Zola? I have not heard of that brand. You must not have tried Harmless Harvest – that is by far the best.

I don’t remember what the brand is, but I love the coconut water (bought in tall cans) at the Asian grocery store. It’s also a lot cheaper than the cans in the grocery store.

Nirvana is definitely the best. It’s not the same as sitting at the beach in Thailand but its close enough to make me wish I was there again instead of shivering in Alaska.
