Chocolate. Pistachios. Coconut water. Banana. Avocado. Ingredients that can make one hell of a smoothie. I combined all of these foods along with whey protein powder, ice and water just a couple days ago.
Not too sweet. It comes with 34 grams of carbs but 9 are fiber. It’s smooth and refreshing. It is chock full of vitamins and minerals.
- 1/4 cup Coconut Water
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1/4 cup Ice
- 3 TBSP Avocado
- 1/2 medium Frozen Banana
- 2 TBSPPistachios
- 2 tspCacao Powder
- 1 scoopWhey Protein Powder

Comments & Suggestions
- For less carbs, sub regular water for coconut water
- Substituting any nut for pistachios should not change the flavor much

This recipe is not low carb per se but it is pretty close. You have to keep in mind that traditional smoothie recipes are full of sugar. The more recipes I make, the better I become at making them taste awesome with little carb count.
Either way, many of us should not be afraid of carbs per se. Just eat whole paleo/primal foods and more than likely you will get the results that you want.
