3 Reasons to Drink More Paleo Smoothies

Coconut Egg Nog

What is a paleo smoothie? A smoothie that contains whole foods. No juice, low fat yogurt, ice cream, etc. Think leafy greens, whole fruit, grass-fed or organic high-fat dairy products, egg yolks, avocado, coconut products, kombucha and more.

Do you want extra protein? Feel free to add whey protein powder. Primal Fuel is great too. I don’t recommend one uses either or daily but they are convenient and highly absorbable protein sources. Always make real, whole food a priority.

Why would you want to drink paleo smoothies? What are you getting out of the beautiful, flavorful creation? Read on to find out.

1. Quick & easy

Smoothies are such a simple process. How could anyone not enjoy them on a regular basis?

  1. Look up a recipe inside Toadally Primal Smoothies.
  2. Throw ingredients into your favorite blender.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4. Enjoy!

Most ingredients are easy to locate too. Nothing fancy required. If you are on a budget and are lazy then you can buy foods like coconut milk on Amazon for $2 a can.

Whether you are in a rush, don’t feel like cooking, want a quick and healthy snack or are just feeling lazy, smoothies are definitely a great option when real, whole food is used.

2. Supreme, unique blend of flavors

Soups, chilis, slow cooked foods and more of the same all have unique flavors. Lots of different foods are added in order to create an incredible concoction.

Smoothies are in the same category. Strawberries and bananas are yummy alone. Together? Irresistible . You can also add egg yolks and/or spinach for an extra dose of nutrition without compromising the taste.

I even have recipes for smoothies like Pumpkin Pie, Coconut Egg Nog and Pumpkin Banana Bread. Chestnut puree is great in smoothies as well as is shown in my Blueberry Chestnut Coconut Smoothie.

3. Yummy way to consume leafy green vegetables

As stated above, leafy greens such as spinach, kale, swiss chard and herbs like parsley and mint are excellent additions to smoothies. Spinach is mild and thus does not effect the flavor of the other ingredients added.

Greens are the most nutrient dense food group on the planet calorie for calorie. Your body may be able to absorb more vitamins and minerals from greens in a smoothie compared to a salad. Why? The blender breaks down the cellulose in the greens and does all the chewing. With salads, a lot of chewing and an optimal digestive system must be involved for optimal digestion.

Recipes with spinach, kale, swiss chard, mint and lemon sorrel are included in Toadally Primal Smoothies. I’ll experimenting with a variety of greens this Summer and adding them to the ebook. All buyers receive lifetime updates for no extra cost.

Summer’s coming! I know what I’m having for lunch most days. :)

Yes it sure is! Go smoothies!

Yay, I’m having a primal smoothie right now – mixed berries, avocados, spinach, and walnuts… that I cracked myself! boo ya. Normally I’d add an egg yolk or two as well, but we’re out. I’ve also enjoyed in the past using beet kvass, kefir, or yogurt as my liquid, but I’m settling for water at the moment

      Sounds yummy! :)

I seem to use water a lot in my smoothies. It’s better than fruit juice!

I find that my green leafy vegetable smoothies tend to separate very quickly as the solids sink. Have you found any ways of preventing this or is the only solution to drink it fast?

I have never had this problem. Can you give me an example of a recipe where this has happened to you? How many greens are you adding?
